At Code Crazy, protecting the privacy and safety of the children and families we work with is our highest priority. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal data in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018, and relevant safeguarding legislation including Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) 2023.
What data we collect
We collect names, ages, emergency contact details, and relevant medical or additional needs information for children enrolled in our clubs. For schools and partner organisations, we collect key staff contact details for operational purposes only.
How we use your data
Data is used solely to deliver our services safely and effectively — including register management, progress reporting, parent communications, and safeguarding responsibilities. We do not sell, share, or use personal data for marketing without explicit consent.
Safeguarding
Code Crazy operates in full compliance with statutory safeguarding guidance. All staff are DBS checked and trained in child protection procedures. Any safeguarding concerns are handled in accordance with school and local authority protocols and reported to the designated safeguarding lead where applicable.
Data storage & retention
All personal data is stored securely using encrypted systems. Data is retained only for as long as necessary and deleted in line with our retention schedule and school partner agreements.
Your rights
Parents, carers, and guardians have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of their child's data at any time. To exercise your rights, contact us at info@codecrazy.org.
